Marine Survey
Provide a steady motorised pontoon to be securely anchored at key parts of the Derwent River to allow for safe and reliable drilling/exploration of the river bed.
Working with KMR Drilling we maintained the barge insitu so that sea bed core samples could be taken in North West bay. This project provided important information to the principal contractor, Pitt & Sherry, for purposes of determining suitability for future underwater assets.
Jetty & Wharf Maintenance
Removal of the old timber fuel jetty at the Southern end of the Oyster Cover Marina.
Our strong winches and lifting assemblies make it possible to remove the toughest pilings. This project at Kettering was difficult due to how well the pilings were fixed in place but our team were able to apply different methods to overcome the problem.
Marine Marker Maintenance
As part of their charter, Marine and Safety Tasmania (MAST) are always re-investing in the marine infrastructure around Tasmania. They are actively responsible for the continued improvement of our public boat ramps, public moorings and other safety mechanisms like floating safety marks.
MAST engaged Channel Mooring Maintenance to install a new identifying 'mark' in Egg and Bacon Bay.
Lead Light Maintenance
Lead Lights are vitally important to the safety of marine vessels and their passengers. These lights provide navigation assistance to guide a vessel safely into or out of port.
TasPorts commissioned Channel Mooring Maintenance to manage the logistics of safely conducting a repair team and its mobile cherry picker out to the Beltana Lead Light for servicing and repair of this essential service. The repair included replacement of the existing light fitting. Testing and checking of electric components and repair of the existing paint covering.
